Loving the Old Testament Right Now

Dearest Family,

Again more great weather here in Bowmanville,  it is currently 12 degrees! I am loving it compared to last Christmas in the frozen north!

Last night was the Oshawa stake Christmas cantata, we attended and saw Maria and Nick there and she had to send you pics of me to you. That was so kind of her to send them to my Momma! There was a great turn out and a wonderful choir. There was these two little girls like 7-9 years old and they were playing the violins at the cantata and I was so impressed that these little ones had such a talent for music at such a young age I really enjoyed it.

This week on Thursday our ward is having a Christmas breakfast and it is going to be big, last year they cooked so much bacon that the church smelled like it for 3 months! This year there is no bacon haha. Still we will be there for 6:30 to help make everything.

Also on Wednesday our Mission is getting together for our Christmas conference and that will be fantastic!

Had a dinner appointment with a brother in our ward here in Bowmanville and afterwards he was going home teaching by himself, so he happily obliged to accompany him to his meetings. During the ride there we told him we had an appointment that would begin after the current meetings that we were going to, and he graciously came and helped us out in return. Now at first I didn't know how this was going to go with him there because he is quite an Interesting guy to say the least. To our amazement he was the best member present lesson I have ever witnessed. He kicked it off immediately with Ed, and at 5 minutes in he already invited him to come to church for the Christmas sacrament meeting. Later on in the discussion he was super bold and told Ed that he was searching for truth and that he needed to go and act so that he can move forward, he then said "what are you meeting the missionaries for to learn or to chat which is it?" I was shocked that he was so perfect!! His boldness to push forward and his powerful testimony of the gospel left Ed's cogs a spinning. We were freaking out at how amazing this brother was!

This week has been better for me in physical, spiritual and emotional situations. I have been able to trust in the Lord a lot more do to my struggles throughout the past weeks. I was able to fast and pray a lot and found a much needed boost to my will power.

Currently I have been catching up in my study of the Old Testament and am now at Job. I am loving the Old testament and have been able to make a lot of connections with modern day events and prophecies to be yet fulfilled. My favorite Old testament Prophet throughout my mission is Elijah, this man is so cool! and this total role in our lives are yet to be revealed, I find it very suspenseful.

I have been sending out some emails to people out there in BC and have found little communication back haha It's has been kinda funny to see the ups and downs of the quantity of emails each week. Last couple weeks have been just from mom and dad THE BEST ONES! I seriously am so appreciative of all the both of you do to support and show your love for me, it means the world.

Christmas next week!!! AHHH Can't wait to see your faces!!
